Managing customer relationships in the family safety technology market, especially when dealing with children, hardware, and sensitive data, is a complex task that standard CRMs are not built to handle. This project was born from the need for a unified platform to manage the entire customer journey, from the first sales contact to the daily use of a child's safety watch.

The system provides Sales Agents with a streamlined CRM workflow for onboarding new families, managing subscription plans, and nurturing long-term customer relationships. Once a child's smartwatch is activated, the platform becomes the central hub for both family safety and customer management. It gives parents real-time access to their child's GPS location, safe zone alerts, and SOS functions, while also provifing audio and video calls.

Concurrently, Administrators use the platform's backend to oversee the business's health, tracking subscription revenue, managing payments, and calculating sales commissions. With tools designed for efficient team management and straightforward client allocation, the CRM equips the entire organization to thrive in the competitive family safety market.

The Challenge

Building a specialized CRM for the children's watch market required designing intricate workflows that catered to both business operations and the end-user family. Here’s a breakdown of the key challenges we overcame:

  1. Balancing Multi-Role Functionality Without Compromising UX
    The CRM had to serve distinct internal users—Sales Agents and Administrators—alongside the external customer hierarchy of Parents (the subscribers) and Children (the end-users). Designing an intuitive interface that provides the right tools and data to each role without creating confusion was a primary architectural challenge.
  2. Real-Time Device Data Integration into a CRM
    A key requirement was integrating live data from the children's smartwatches directly into the customer record. Displaying safety-critical information like live GPS coordinates, SOS alerts, and battery status within a CRM context required a highly scalable and resilient backend capable of processing high-frequency data streams.
  3. Secure and Transparent Subscription Billing
    The platform needed to manage consumer subscription models directly within the CRM. Tracking recurring payments and distinguishing between paid, delayed, and overdue accounts demanded robust financial logic. The feature to temporarily suspend services for non-payment required a seamless link between billing status and device management, without eroding customer trust.
  4. Ensuring Data Consistency Across a Growing Customer Base
    With new families being onboarded frequently, maintaining data integrity was crucial. Linking multiple children and devices to a single parent's account, assigning the correct sales agent, and validating subscription tiers required robust CRM logic to prevent data conflicts and ensure a single source of truth for every customer.
  5. Complex Customer Onboarding
    The customer onboarding process was inherently complex. It involved managing the relationship between the Parent (the primary customer and payer) and one or more Children (the end-users), each with their own device. The workflow needed to be simple enough for a quick sale but detailed enough to capture all necessary information for a complete and accurate customer profile in the CRM.

    Leveraging 4G LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity, the platform's IoT integration streams critical data directly to the parent's app and the CRM. Key features include:
  • Real-Time GPS Tracking: Precise, live location monitoring viewable on a map within the app.
  • HD Video & Audio Calls: Parents can initiate two-way video and voice calls directly to the watch.
  • SOS Alerts: A dedicated SOS button on the watch instantly sends an alert and location data to predefined contacts.
  • Discreet Monitoring: For added security, parents can discreetly listen to the child's surroundings through the app. This rich data enriches the customer profile and enables proactive support.
